09 Realistic Painting
Before the abstract lesson we had one on realistic portrait painting... I chose a close-up of Leonardo da Vinci's Virgin on the Rocks. Unfortunately the print-out I based my painting on was dark and therefore I couldn't see many details save for the face and a bit of her dress. Nevertheless, considering I have absolutely zero experience at realistic painting and generally find that I cannot accurately copy realistic features- this turned out pretty cool! I need to work on, of course, proportion, painting fine details (inc. clothes and curls) and shades.
