08 Abstract!

The final product!

pairwork stimulus

brainstorming ideas

my own stimulus- Audrey Hepburn

the one on the right reminds me of the South Africa World Cup for some reason...

my personal favourite- Audrey in Ray Bans

the one on the right was inspired by a Converse plastic bag, which is totally black with a thin white line drawing

the one on the left was coloured with pencil- extremely tiring but, as you can see, worth it

the one on the left was inspired by Andy Warhol, and the one on the right is a copy of the template that I used for the final product.
We had some very interesting lessons on abstract art. Each of us picked an individual stimulus of our choice and did 20 different abstract sketches of it- I learnt how hard it is to pick apart a person's features! Then we paired up -I with Dominique- to do a pairwork abstract based on both of our previously picked stimuli, as well as on a famous piece of abstract art (second from top). Dominique's was an old man playing a violin so we juxtaposed that atop my Andy Warhol-inspired background using 3D double-sided tape.

I wish I could have been more patient and not rushed off the background because it's actually very sloppily done. If I had done it properly it would have been a really wonderful piece of art...

  1. 'I wish I could have been more patient and not rushed off the background because it's actually very sloppily done. If I had done it properly it would have been a really wonderful piece of art... ' - It's ok, we were also working on ideas, not just proficiency...

Do try and rotate the images so that they can be read in the right orientation... Also would have been neater if you had cropped some of the scanned images... ( I know... take more time, but would be worth it...)
