23 Frymëzim

Bet you'd never have guessed what the title means- it's 'inspiration' in Albanian!

I figured I used the word 'inspiration' too much in my titles and posts so it's time to switch things up a little bit and fry me zim other languages. (I'm so lame, I know.)

I have also added another label to my art blog, 'inspiration', for all those posts in between updates where I just post coursework-related pictures from the Net as interim..  frymëzim.

Meanwhile, here's some of my photographs dug up from my My Pictures folder, some of product (mostly jewelry) photography (which I am starting to get into, along with product design.. more in the next post) and some of places I've been. I AM quite interested in photography and am always waiting to take my brother's Diana Mini (it's a film camera! with cool Polaroid like colouring effects and half frames and whatnot!) for a spin but never get round to doing it.

beach essentials... sunglasses, goggles, and a coconut.

the story behind this one was actually quite funny because the lens was dirty and I didn't know it, and was wondering why the photo turned out so dreamily blur. guess I should get my lens into more scrapes more often ;-)
hard rock hotel, pattaya, thailand. aren't the lights the coolest???

Taiwan

these two photos were quite cool- they were taken at the same time, just one from my left and one from my right! and such different scenery!
the hotel we stayed in was quite cool, it was just a bunch of hostel like blocks around, and huge grounds which just led off freely into this lake.

the REAL bridge over river kwai right there, people. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bridge_on_the_River_Kwai
i thought this would be cool. my brother said it's only cool when there's a face behind it. pffft.

valentino: a retrospective
SO WORTH IT, this exhibition. 12 dollars or something, and just rows and rows of BRILLIANT DRESSES, WORKS OF ART, I took two turns around the whole place and wanted to keep going because I couldn't get enough of the detail but it was after a CNY trip and I was tired.

taylor swift in singapore!

I wanted to take a picture of these roses my grandmother got for Mothers' Day against the light of her altar at night but it turned out looking like a vampire film.
one of my favourites!!! rawr, say hello to the dinosaur shadow (can you see it?) and my owl ring.

bangkok

this is one of my favourites too. my parents and I went on a tour thing in a place near Phuket, and we stopped by this museum place along the way. this was the view from one of the windows- and the thing on the left is its reflection in an exhibition case! cool, huh?
our hotel, intentionally overexposed. I have this thing about colouring. and I think the blue is the bus window and not the camera. but it's cool.
khom fais hanging in the hotel lobby! my mum and I were joking about asking the receptionists if I could bring them home.
we took a boat a LONG WAY OUT (an hour + I think?) to a little island to snorkel. none of the photos  have been edited in any way. the colours are NATURAL, and I still can't believe it.
the water was the most amazing turquoise ever.

this might be a little more of a holiday log than photos journal, I realized, but I wanted to share some of the scenery I've seen and taken. some graphic art next!
